Joy = Party Dancing
At our first Through The Walls community event, a spontaneous celebration broke out. The event was “A Celebration of Oakland: A Tribute to Two Brothers.” The gathering involved performances of poetry and hip-hop at Ale Industries in Fruitvale. The women of the Hall family, who lost their sons Jesse “Plan Bee” Hall and Bobby “BluNose” Hall due to senseless, random violence, show us that joy is indeed possible after tragedy.
